Manager Toolkit is live

A single place for your team, your 1-1s, retros, actions, and goals. We built it for managers who want to show up prepared and keep work moving.

For years we have watched managers, ourselves included, juggle catchup notes in one doc, actions in another, retros that never happened because there was no simple place to run them, and team lists that lived in HR systems nobody opened. The tools existed, but they did not connect. The result was constant context switching, dropped follow-ups, and 1-1s that started from zero every time. Good intentions, scattered execution.

Today we are launching Manager Toolkit: one place for your team, your 1-1s, retrospectives, actions, and goals. No more scattered docs and sticky notes. We built it for managers who want to show up prepared, keep work moving, and close the loop on what was agreed.

What's in the box

Manager Toolkit brings the stuff you do every day into a single app: teams and people, 1-1s and catchup notes, retrospectives, a single action list, goals, and key themes so you can see what matters at a glance. Each feature is designed to be lightweight: fast to set up, easy to use, and integrated with everything else rather than living in its own silo. Meeting Notes capture every conversation so decisions and actions have a home. Surveys let you gather anonymous feedback without chasing people through email or chat. And Journeys guide you through the moments that matter - your first 90 days, onboarding someone new, or supporting a performance conversation.

  • Teams & peopleKeep your team in one place. See who you have not met lately, track catchup cadences, and get a clear view of everyone you manage, whether you have three direct reports or twenty.
  • 1-1s & catchupsNotes from every 1-1 in one place. Show up prepared by scanning what you discussed last time, what is still open, and how your team member has been feeling.
  • RetrospectivesRun retros in minutes. Pick your columns, share a link, and capture actions that live alongside the rest of your work, not in a doc nobody opens again.
  • One action listAll your follow-ups in one list, connected to the source they came from. No more hunting through email, meeting notes, and chat to remember what you promised.
  • Goals & key themesTrack development goals and tag themes across your team. Spot what is recurring before it becomes a problem, and keep people accountable to what they said mattered.

Why we built it

We kept seeing the same pattern: managers drowning in context switching, catchup notes in one doc and actions in another, retros that never happened because there was no simple place to run them. We built Manager Toolkit so you have one starting point: a dashboard that surfaces what to do today, who to meet, and what is still open, and so every conversation has a home.

The vision was never to build the most feature-rich management platform. It was to build the one you actually use. That means every feature has to earn its place by being genuinely useful in a real workday, not just impressive in a demo. Log a catchup in under a minute. Run a retro in five. See your actions in one place. Start the day with a dashboard that tells you what needs attention without having to hunt for it.

No more "I'll add it to my list" and then losing it. No more showing up to a 1-1 with no idea what you talked about last time. No more retros that slip because setting one up felt like a project. Manager Toolkit is designed to be light enough that you actually use it. One starting point. One place to run your team and keep work moving.

Built-in AI, kept optional

We added AI where it genuinely reduces work, such as summarising catchups, suggesting actions from retros, helping write SMART targets, and analysing survey results, but we made every AI feature optional. Some managers want to use it everywhere; others prefer to keep AI out of their workflow. Manager Toolkit supports both.

The AI features are available to Pro subscribers and are designed to save time, not replace judgment. They surface things you might have missed and speed up tasks that are genuinely tedious. But the quality of your management still comes down to you: the conversations you have, the follow-through you demonstrate, and the attention you give your team. AI just helps you do more of it with less friction.
